Lab Technician

PhD Students
The lab accepts students from the Neuroscience and Molecular Medicine graduate programs. Please email Emily to set up a meeting to discuss potential projects.
Postdoc
Please email Emily with (1) your CV, (2) a cover letter explaining your past research, future research interests, and why you’re interested in our lab, and (3) contacts for at least two references.
Qualifications:
Required:
- PhD in neuroscience, biology, engineering, or related field (already earned or anticipated within the next year)
- At least 1 first-author paper or preprint from your thesis work (or anticipated prior to graduation)
- Prior experience with in vivo or ex vivo neural recordings of some kind (any technique, any animal model)
- Enthusiastic about the lab’s research topics and the prospect of joining a new lab
- Detail-oriented, organized, and excels at planning and project management
- Agrees to uphold the lab’s philosophy
Bonus Points:
- History of fellowship applications, ideally successful
- Prior experience with our experimental techniques: in vivo freely moving electrophysiological recordings in rodents, hippocampal physiology, and/or optogenetics, aging and/or Alzheimer’s disease models and behaviors
- Prior experience with our analytical techniques: single unit analysis, local field potential analysis, unsupervised behavioral quantification, machine learning algorithms for neural data statistics
- Fluent in Python
High School and Undergraduate Students
